The Ivorian national team continues to attract talents from across the globe. That's certainly the case for Yann Gboho. Born in Ivory Coast but leaving at a young age, the TFC midfielder represented France at youth levels. Yet, his ambitions seem to be shifting, and he now wants to join the Elephants as he dazzles with his current form.

In a recent interview, Yann Gboho revealed his short-term ambitions.

Wearing the Elephants’ jersey is clearly a hugely important goal for me. Representing Ivory Coast would be a tremendous source of pride.

With 6 goals and 2 assists in 24 Ligue 1 matches, the player born in Man, Ivory Coast, has never strayed far from his roots.

Even though I left very young, Ivory Coast has always been a part of me. It's my story, my family, my roots. I grew up with Ivorian values at home: respect, joy of living.

The best dribbler in Ligue 1 this season with 60 successful dribbles, he keeps a keen eye on the Elephants and follows their matches closely. “I regularly watch the Elephants' matches. I tune in whenever I can, with my family. Ivory Coast has a squad packed with top talent," he told Ultras Ivoiriens.

Trained at Rennes, Yann Gboho came through the U16, U17, and U18 French national teams. Arriving at Toulouse in January 2024, the versatile midfielder—who can also play on the wing—has taken his game to the next level. This statement sounds like a clear message of readiness sent to Emerse Fae, the Elephants' head coach.
