Yann Gboho will not join Sporting Kansas City | OneFootball

L'Équipe reports that Toulouse midfielder Yann Gboho will not be transferred to Sporting Kansas City after long-running negotiations failed to produce a deal.

He was left out of the 1-0 defeat at Lille on Thursday amid the prospect of a move, and could now quickly rejoin the TFC squad.

Sporting Kansas City had pursued the 25-year-old since early summer and a switch was close up to the MLS deadline on Wednesday evening. Unlike Cédric Bakambu, who signed for San Diego once paperwork was completed, Gboho's proposed switch did not follow that path.

A negative decision arrived late in the evening, with no reason disclosed. Gboho is under contract until 2027.

He could still depart for Türkiye or Portugal, where the window closes on Friday evening, for Saudi Arabia until Sunday evening, or for Brazil until 11 September, although that appears very unlikely.
