Lyon beat Auxerre 3-2 at home in Ligue 1 on Saturday to climb from fourth to third.

In the 19th minute, Roman Yaremchuk turned in Abner's cross. Sinaly Diomande soon levelled for the visitors (35.).

Endrick struck a post on the stroke of half time, and Theo de Percin made saves either side of the interval as Auxerre hung in.

After Corentin Tolisso's introduction (58.), Les Gones regained control. He stabbed in from close range (66.) and crossed for Yaremchuk's second (71.). Bryan Okoh's low drive set up a tense finish (88.), but the hosts saw it out.

Les Gones registered 12 attempts with six on target. Auxerre produced nine attempts and found the target twice.

Next, Les Gones host Rennes. Auxerre remain 16th in the relegation play-off spot and host Angers next.
