Yassine brace sinks Lens late as Le Racing climb to sixth | OneFootball

Strasbourg beat Lens 2-1 at Stade de la Meinau, Gessime Yassine striking twice to earn Le Racing their first league win of the season and lift them from 18th to sixth.

Florian Thauvin converted from the spot in the 38th minute after Abdallah Sima was fouled by Jeyland Mitchell.

Yassine levelled (48.), finishing Sebastian Nanasi's pass from the right. Moments later, Jacobo Ortega had a goal ruled out for offside after a VAR review (56.).

On the break, Nanasi teed up Yassine for the late winner (85.). Lens then pushed, with Matthieu Udol hitting the right post (89.).

Filip Jorgensen preserved the points with a reflex save from Florian Sotoca's header in the eighth minute of second half stoppage time.

Le Racing tallied 16 attempts, with seven on target. Lens mustered 17 attempts. Thauvin now has three Ligue 1 goals, leading the early scoring chart.
