Yellu Santiago joins CS Marítimo, returns to Portugal | OneFootball

According to Superdeporte, Yellu Santiago has joined CS Marítimo, returning to Portugal with the top-flight side.

He came through Valencia’s academy, then debuted for the first team. At 18 he moved to Getafe with Bordalás, who gave him a top-flight debut.

Across two seasons he struggled for regular minutes. In 23/24 he played 14 games and scored one goal, then featured 23 times the following campaign.

After leaving Getafe he headed to Italy but did not establish himself at Hellas Verona, playing only four matches. Later that same season he joined Arouca on loan and made five appearances.

At Marítimo he will link up with former Levante goalkeeper Alfonso Pastor, who has been at the club for one season and has played one match. Winger Martín Tejón, formerly of Valencia, has made 33 appearances, scoring five and providing six assists.
