Ouest France reports that Rennes have identified Yerson Mosquera as a target, and any summer exit could hand Nasser Djiga a route into Wolves’ defence.
Wanderers will play in the Championship in 2026/27 after relegation, with the clear aim to return at the first attempt. Activity has been limited so far, which is a concern given the workload.
Mosquera has also attracted Premier League interest, so there appears a genuine chance he leaves in this window. That could be a shame, as his aggression looks suited to the Championship and could aid the promotion push.
Djiga spent last season on loan at Rangers, making 42 appearances across nearly 3500 minutes in a valuable learning spell after arriving from Red Star Belgrade. He drew praise for aerial dominance and strength.
He had some uncomfortable outings early under Russell Martin, but improved significantly once Danny Rohl came in. Rangers are not buying Djiga, so a spot could open at Wolves, particularly if Mosquera departs. Ladislav Krejci has also been linked with an exit.
As a right-footer, Djiga could directly replace the Colombian and cover the physical edge Mosquera would take with him. Wolves plan to spend, but smart internal solutions matter too, and Djiga has also been linked with a return to Red Star. Cesar Peixoto will assess him in pre-season, and the hope is he is ready to make his mark.
