Young full-back given chance by Dorival Júnior renews with Corinthians

Corinthians has officially renewed the contract of young right-back João Vitor, known as “Jacaré”. The Central do Timão had already found out that the player's new contract will be valid until 2030, three years longer than the previous agreement, which would have ended in November 2027.

The announcement was confirmed through a publication by WebSoccer, the agency responsible for the athlete's career. The new contract was signed in the presence of Fabinho Soldado and Osmar Stabile, representatives of the Corinthians board. In addition to the increase in contract time, the player received a salary adjustment and his termination fine was increased.

Negotiations for the renewal had become stalled, which led to Jacaré returning to training with the youth team. With the agreement in place, the fullback returned to normal training with the professional squad.

The valuation of young athletes has been a priority for Corinthians. After the departure of Kauê Furquim, the club accelerated the renewals of Gui Amorim, André Luiz and Nícollas, all with an increase in termination fine.

At 18 years old, João Vitor has been closely monitored by coach Dorival Júnior. He has already played two matches for the main team: the debut occurred in February, against Novorizontino, for the Paulista Championship, and the second participation was in the draw against Portuguesa.

Promoted to the Under-20 team this year, Jacaré alternated the starting position with Gabriel Caipira, 20 years old and team captain. In the professional squad, with Matheuzinho currently the only original right-back, the youngster may take up the position of immediate reserve.
