Liam Rosenior insists he fully backs Alejandro Garnacho despite his recent struggles on the pitch, and believes he needs games to get some rhythm.
Garnacho arrived at Chelsea in a deal worth £40m from Manchester United last summer, but has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
The Argentine has had some good moments, and has scored six goals in 27 appearances, but just one of those has come in the Premier League.
Garancho had a poor game against West Ham and was taken off at half time, whilst he also struggled to make an impact against Arsenal on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old has come under heavy criticism for his recent performances, but Rosenior insists he fully backs Garnacho, and doesn’t think he’s afraid of trying to beat his man at the moment.

“You’re making your own viewpoint on what you see,” he told Mail Sport.
“I saw Garna take the game forwards. I saw him reach really, really good positions where, by the way, he’s one-v-one against one of the best one-v-one defenders in world football.
“I’ve got full backing of him and I will always protect my players. He just needs to get some games and some rhythm.
“I back him to have a really good second half of the season.”
Garnacho could find himself getting a lot more opportunities over the remainder of the season with Jamie Gittens sidelined.

Gittens has suffered a tear in his hamstring, and Rosenior has admitted the England under-21 international is out long term.
For Garnacho that leaves him as the only natural left winger in the squad, although both Pedro Neto and Estevao can play on that side, and it will be interesting to see if the Argentina international starts against Wolves.
