Forest have a four-man striker shortlist that includes En-Nesyri, but have yet to start negotiations.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg claims the 28-year-old favours a move to Everton over Forest.

Everton have struggled for goals this season, scoring 23 times in 21 Premier League matches, with strikers Thierno Barry and Beto registering just five league goals between them.

Beto has been linked with Roma, as part of a swap deal involving Artem Dovbyk. Everton could now be open to listening to offers for the Guinea-Bissau international.

En-Nesyri has been in fine form for Fenerbahce, bagging 38 goals in 77 matches across all competitions.

His arrival would ease the goalscoring burden on Barry, who has been Everton’s first-choice striker this season. He could help them push for a European qualification spot.

While Everton are currently placed 12th in the league standings, they are just six points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool.

Any deal is expected to wait until the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations, with En-Nesyri representing Morocco.

They have reached the semi-finals, where they will face Nigeria today.
