Yuri Alberto was approached by a Corinthians supporter while on holiday in Alagoas, who pleaded with him to remain at the club. According to Meu Timao, the striker was cycling when he stopped to chat and pose for a photo.
The exchange comes amid debate over his future since May, after the centre-forward said he would like to pursue new challenges from mid-year following the win over Barra, of Santa Catarina, that put Corinthians into the Copa do Brasil last 16.
He said he had spoken early in the year with his agent André and his family, and that Osmar had last year indicated they would talk if an attractive offer arrived for Corinthians. He added that seeking new objectives from mid-year was his own request and that, until the end of the Copa, there would be almost two months to resolve it.
To date the club have received no concrete offers for the striker. Even so, he has drawn praise from William de Oliveira, assistant at Zenit in Russia, the club that sold him to Corinthians in 2022.
Since arriving at Parque São Jorge, he has played 236 matches and scored 82 goals. He is the leading scorer in Neo Química Arena history with 51 at the stadium.
He was decisive in the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil triumphs in 2025, and in this season’s Supercopa Rei.
If he is not transferred, he will prepare for the return of the Campeonato Brasileiro next month. On 23 July, Corinthians host Remo at Neo Química Arena in the 19th round.
