Yuri Berchiche to play 300th Primera División match against Valencia | OneFootball

Yuri Berchiche will play his 300th Primera División match on Sunday against Valencia, comprising 221 for Athletic, 77 for Real Sociedad and one for Real Valladolid.

He made his top-flight debut for Valladolid on 30 August 2009 under José Luis Mendilibar, aged 19, against Almería at the Juegos Mediterráneos. According to as.com, at 36 he has possibly been Athletic’s best performer this season.

He then developed with Real Unión from 2010 to 2012 in Segunda B, followed by Eibar from 2012 to 2014, earning promotion to Segunda in his second year at Ipurua.

From Eibar he moved to Real Sociedad for three top-flight seasons before a 2017-18 campaign at Paris Saint-Germain, after which he joined Athletic.

This is his eighth season in Bilbao. His contract runs until 30 June and he is negotiating a one-year extension with the club.
