Zaidu goes off injured, but should be fit to face Sporting

Zaidu remains Francesco Farioli's first choice and was ultimately substituted early in the second half yesterday due to physical issues. At first glance, nothing suggests anything serious, but the left-back will be reassessed today when FC Porto return to training.

That session will be for recovery for the players most used yesterday and, for the others, it will mark the first preparation training session for the match the day after tomorrow against Sporting in the Portuguese Cup. Zaidu is therefore not expected to be put under much strain on the pitch and could still be an option for the clássico. “From what I understood, it was just a cramp. It was a matter of accumulated fatigue, nothing more than that,” said Farioli.
