Utrecht beat Fortuna Sittard 2-0 at Stadion Galgenwaard to finish sixth in the Eredivisie and confirm their place in the league's qualification play-offs.
In the 39th minute Dani de Wit guided a right-footed finish into the top left after Gjivai Zechiël picked him out from the centre. The midfielder's influence grew after the restart as David Min, on to lead the line, slotted a second from his through ball (65.).
Mattijs Branderhorst kept Fortuna in it before the break, tipping away efforts from Sébastien Haller and Jesper Karlsson. At the other end, Vasilis Barkas was alert late on to deny Mohammed Ihattaren from range.
After replacing Haller, Min provided the penalty-box presence Utrecht had been missing, timing his run to meet Zechiël's pass and settle the game.
Zechiël struck the bar early in the second half and repeatedly drove play forward, underlining why both goals came via his service.
Utrecht controlled the ball, finishing with 57.7% possession and 18 attempts. Fortuna mustered 13 attempts but found little joy inside the box.
Utrecht finish sixth. Fortuna Sittard end 11th.
