Zhegrova explains why he did not leave Juventus in the summer | OneFootball

After struggling during his first season at Juventus, Edon Zhegrova was expected to leave the club in the last transfer window, with several teams reportedly interested in signing him.

Even after the European transfer windows closed, Zhegrova continued to attract interest from Saudi Arabia, with reports suggesting that Juventus could still sell the winger.

Juve were willing to let him leave after his disappointing performances last term, and Zhegrova was also open to moving to the Saudi Pro League. However, the transfer ultimately did not happen.

He remained in Turin and has improved his performances this season. Juventus believe he can continue developing and become an increasingly important player for the team.

Zhegrova is a talented player who can be difficult to stop when he reaches his best level. He has already shown glimpses of that ability this season, making his decision to remain at Juventus particularly interesting.

Zhegrova explains Juventus decision

The winger has now explained why he chose to stay despite knowing he would not be a regular starter. He said via Calciomercato:

“I’m very happy to be at Juventus. It’s a great club: I’m happy with my teammates, the coach, and the staff. It’s a privilege for me to be part of this team, and I’ll give my best every time I step onto the pitch for Juventus. I stayed because I love this club and want to achieve something great. When they bought me, I was happy and didn’t want to leave without having given something. So I stayed: I want to achieve great things.”

Zhegrova wants to succeed at Juve

Zhegrova’s comments make clear that his desire to remain at Juventus was driven by his attachment to the club and his ambition to achieve something there.

Rather than leaving after a difficult first season, he decided to stay and fight for his place. His improved performances suggest that he is beginning to show more of the quality that Juventus expected when they signed him.

The winger still faces competition for regular opportunities, but his determination to remain in Turin gives him the chance to continue improving and prove his value to the team.

For now, Zhegrova remains focused on contributing whenever he gets the opportunity and achieving his ambitions with Juventus.
