With exactly three weeks to go until the January transfer window opens, Gasperini already has a clear idea of the reinforcements Roma needs.
The coach has requested an attacking left winger, a center forward, and a central defender to strengthen the squad, aiming to consolidate their position in the league and continue their European campaign.
At the top of the list is Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee, for whom discussions with the English club are already underway.
Roma are aiming to sign the player on loan with an option to buy, which could become a mandatory condition under certain conditions, such as qualification for next season’s Champions League.
Yuri Alberto is also in the background, but Corinthians’ €30 million request seems to be pushing any concrete negotiations further away, writes Il Tempo.
Meanwhile, among the possible outgoings is center forward Evan Ferguson.
The striker, who wasn’t entirely convincing during his brief stint in the capital, could return to Brighton in January. However, Roma doesn’t have a clause to terminate the loan early, so any decision will depend on negotiations between the clubs.
