13 million dollars set aside to prepare Black Stars for 2026 World Cup

2026 World Cup: Ghana allocates massive budget to prepare Black Stars
A budget of 150 million Ghanaian cedis—over 13 million US dollars, or approximately 7.8 billion CFA francs—has been allocated to prepare the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup, according to Ghanaian media reports on Sunday.
Ernest Norbey, chairman of the parliamentary committee on sports, explained that this amount is intended to provide the best possible preparation conditions for the players ahead of the tournament, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He noted that the need for these funds stems from delays in FIFA funding.
We are always in need of funding, because we know that FIFA will transfer a certain amount to us, but this money will not be available before the preparations begin.
Ghana will kick off their preparations during the FIFA window in March with two international friendlies against Germany and Austria. The Ghana Football Association has also confirmed a third match against Mexico in May.
