Sunderland are currently discussing their plans for the summer transfer window. According to Sunderland Echo, they could again prioritise promising talent, with Championship standouts among the possibilities.
Recent signings Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra impressed in their first year, and the club could also look abroad for value while assessing five second-tier options.
Jeremy Monga, Leicester City’s 16-year-old winger, has enjoyed a productive first senior season with 29 appearances. An England Under-19 international, he looks a long-term option requiring patience. As it stands, he will not be a Championship player next season after Leicester’s relegation to League One.
Mihailo Ivanovic of Millwall could offer cover and competition for Brian Brobbey. The 21-year-old Serb has scored nine goals but his impact has stretched beyond the tally. He could be a Premier League player next season if the Lions complete their promotion push.
Zan Vipotnik has led the line impressively for Swansea City, scoring 23 goals in 43 league games. Other suitors are likely and a sizeable fee may be required, but his profile could fit.
Sheffield United’s Ollie Arblaster has returned from a serious cruciate ligament injury to make 21 appearances, having previously established himself as one of the Championship’s standout midfielders with significant potential.
Harvey Vale left Chelsea for Queens Park Rangers on a free transfer in February last year after loans at Hull City and Bristol Rovers. The Republic of Ireland international has since delivered four goals and 19 assists in 31 appearances, troubling full-backs across the division.
