Galatasaray are said to be ‘leading the race’ to sign Tyrell Malacia as a free agent when his terms expire at Manchester United.
The full-back is now in the final eight months of his deal at Old Trafford, with Fabrizio Romano confirming Malacia ‘will leave for sure’ when he is out of contract with United.

Malacia signed from Feyenoord in July 2022 to become Erik ten Hag’s first addition as manager. The club forked out £14.7 million to add him to the ranks before he put pen to paper on a four-year deal – plus the option of an additional season – worth a reported £75,000 per week.
However, INEOS, who weren’t in charge at the time he made the switch, have no plans to keep hold of him beyond the four years, and will instead bypass the 12-month clause to allow him to leave for nothing.
From there, it’s anticipated he will sign for Galatasaray, as the Daily Star claims the Super Lig giants are ‘confident’ of getting an agreement over the line.
It’s not the first time he’s been linked with a move to Turkey, either.
In the closing stages of the summer window, when the Dutch international was one of the last remaining members of Ruben Amorim’s ‘bomb squad’, Malacia was approached by Eyupspor over a potential season-long loan – until talks collapsed when he decided he didn’t want the move.
The 26-year-old has since been reintegrated into first-team training at Carrington, although he hasn’t featured in a match and it’s unlikely he will with both Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu ahead of him in the pecking order.
