Yan Diomande is a rising star in world football, and Chelsea continue to be linked with interest in the RB Leipzig winger.
Chelsea have spent a lot of money on wingers in recent years – last year Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke were shipped out, and the Blues bought Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho. It’s early days yet, but neither seems to be working out.
So perhaps it’s no surprise that Liam Rosenior’s team are being linked with a move for the sensational RB Leipzig talent Yan Diomande. The 19 year old recently spoke about turning down a move to the Blues some years ago, a decision which has paid off as he’s flourished with exposure to first team football.

Diomande’s rise from playing high school soccer in the United States to tearing up the Bundesliga has been sensational. He’s taken no time to settle in to the German top flight, racking up 11 G/A in 21 appearances this season.
He’s completing 3.5 dribbles per game according to WhoScored, showing his sensational individual skill. He’s currently the fourth highest rated player in the division, behind only Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz.
But all that means he won’t come cheap – German football insider Christian Falk has said that it could cost €90m to sign him. And given his form and the level of interest, as well as the amount of time remaining on his contract, that could well be true.
A year ago, it was a different Bundesliga star being linked with the Blues. Sadly, we all know it didn’t work out.
Reece James had a really nice interview today with Chelsea where he spoke a little about growing up in a football crazy family.
