Abel Ferreira could be boosted by the return of Felipe Anderson for Palmeiras' meeting with Flamengo, a contest widely billed as an early title decider in the Brasileirão.
According to Coluna Do Fla, the midfielder trained on Thursday after recovering from a left thigh injury, putting him back in contention for the visitors' midfield.
It was his first session since the setback, and although deemed fit to play, a decision on his inclusion will follow Friday's training.
Palmeiras lost 1-0 at home to Cerro Porteño on Wednesday, so their Libertadores last-16 place is not yet secure. They are top of the Brasileirão but come in on three consecutive draws.
Flamengo, meanwhile, beat Estudiantes and have already sealed a spot in the Libertadores last 16. They currently own the competition's best points tally, 13.
Kick-off is at 21:00 Brasília time on Saturday 23 at the Maracanã, with television coverage on SporTV and on pay-per-view via Premiere.
