Abel Ferreira has been handed a six-match suspension for his dismissal in the Choque-Rei against São Paulo, after a hearing on Thursday.
According to Nosso Palestra, he has eight matches of suspension in total, six from the Choque-Rei case and two from the match against Fluminense in the Brasileirão, and he has already served two.
Palmeiras beat São Paulo 1-0 at Morumbis in the Campeonato Brasileiro, where referee Anderson Daronco sent the coach off in the second half.
Ferreira was charged under Article 258, which covers conduct contrary to discipline or sporting ethics and carries a ban of one to six matches for coaches.
The match report stated that, after being shown a second yellow card, he insulted the referee, using the word "cagão".
He has received three red cards in 2026, and in two of those cases he was reported to the STJD. He has also collected six yellow cards this season.
