Benzema between Al Ittihad and Al Hilal: the saga intensifies

Saudi club Al Ittihad has set a clear financial threshold for any suitor aiming to secure the services of its French captain, Karim Benzema. According to renowned journalist Sacha Tavolieri, no talks will take place for less than a minimum offer of €25 million.

According to circulating reports, Benzema and the club’s management still have not reached common ground, both regarding the sporting project and certain contractual aspects. This disagreement has led to a freeze in negotiations, with no concrete progress on either an extension or a revision of the current agreement.

The stalled negotiations bring Benzema closer to Al Hilal

Meanwhile, signs are multiplying of a possible move between Benzema and Al Hilal, following a preliminary agreement that would last until the end of the season. This situation puts Al Ittihad’s management in a delicate position, as uncertainty grows around the future of their star striker.

In this context, Al Hilal’s Italian coach, Simone Inzaghi, refused to comment on rumors regarding the Frenchman’s possible arrival at “Al-Zaïm.” On the eve of the match against Al Ahly, he stated that his focus was entirely on the game, expressing confidence in the club’s management and declining to dwell on transfer market speculation.

To recall, Benzema joined Al Ittihad in the summer of 2023 from Real Madrid. He has played 83 matches across all competitions, scoring 54 goals and providing 17 assists, playing a key role in the league and King’s Cup double claimed last season.
