According to L'Équipe, Alban Lafont, 27, is set to sign a three-year deal with newly promoted Kurdish side Amedspor in Türkiye, with the fee around one million euros.

The Ivorian goalkeeper is therefore poised to leave Nantes. His return proved brief after rejoining La Jonelière a few days after the 2026 World Cup with Ivory Coast.

Lafont had one year left on his contract. Nantes, relegated to Ligue 2, plan to rely chiefly on new recruit Maxime Dupé as first-choice goalkeeper.

Back-up to Yahia Fofana for the national team, Lafont has four caps and stands 1.96m. He played 37 matches last season during a loan at Panathinaikos.

He joined Nantes permanently in 2021 for seven and a half million euros after two years on loan, making 198 appearances for the Canaries.
