Kristjan Asllani has addressed his summer transfer from Inter Milan to Torino on loan with an option to buy.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the Albanian midfielder admitted that he sees the move as a ‘good thing.’

Despite turning down a transfer to Rayo Vallecano early the summer, Kristjan Asllani failed to stay at San Siro.

Indeed, the 23-year-old joined Torino on a season-long loan at the tail-end of the summer transfer window.

Furthermore, the Granata included a buyout option in their loan agreement with Inter Milan.

Therefore, they can make Asllani’s move permanent at the end of the season.

That looks like a virtual certainty, considering the former Empoli playmaker has hit the ground running in Turin.

After three underwhelming seasons at Inter, Asllani has established himself as a regular starter under Marco Baroni.

He has collected five Serie A appearances this term, emerging as Torino’s standout midfielder.

“I’m sad because I left fantastic teammates and a great club,” Asllani stated. “But for myself, it was good to make a change.

“I think it was good for everyone, including Inter. I’m happy to be in Turin because I really wanted to be here.

“And it’s important for me to be in a group that truly cares about me. They welcomed me in a really wonderful way.”

Meanwhile, he admitted he had to leave Inter because he had no chance to overtake Hakan Calhanoglu in the pecking order.

“One of the reasons I left Inter was also the limited playing time, partly because Hakan Calhanoglu was clearly ahead in the pecking order,” he added.

“I had my difficulties, but it’s obvious that if the others always played, it means I was far behind them.

“However, I’m happy with the journey I had with the teammates who helped me.
