Massimiliano Allegri’s mentor Giovanni Galeone believes that a Juventus return can be ruled out, suggesting that AC Milan would be preferred.
Allegri has been out of work since leaving Juventus towards the end of last season, and he hopes that his time away from the dugout will end shortly. In fact, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning that he thinks Milan are the right next club for him.
On the other hand, a section of Juve fans chanted Allegri’s name on Sunday after a 4-0 loss against Atalanta. It was the biggest home defeat for the Bianconeri since 1967 and it has put Thiago Motta under serious pressure to turn things around.
Now, Galeone – who works as a mentor for Allegri and others – has given an interview to Radio Kiss Kiss in which he spoke about what the future might hold for the coach.
“Allegri will never return to Juventus; I believe more in a return to Milan, but I really don’t think it could happen with the Bianconeri,” he said (via Football Italia).
Allegri intends to start planning for the 2025-26 season from the start of the summer, and while there have been links with clubs in Saudi Arabia, Roma and West Ham, he still seems to be waiting for the right call.
