A protection order is a civil injunction restricting someone from contacting or approaching another person, or attending a specific address. Breaching such an order is a criminal offence that can carry a prison term of up to five years.

The former Liverpool and Newcastle United striker is an ex-England international with nine caps and two goals.

Carroll currently plays for Dagenham and Redbridge in the sixth tier, following a stint with Bordeaux in the 2024-2025 season.
