Borussia Dortmund will be without Aaron Anselmino when they face Juventus in their Champions League opener in Turin on Tuesday.
After missing Saturday's 2-0 win over Heidenheim due to muscular problems, the Chelsea loanee isn't quite ready to return yet.
“Aaron has made good progress. But we only want someone on the pitch who is 100 percent ready,” Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovač said at his pre-match press conference on Monday.
“Today it was a bit of a back and forth, and in the end we decided not to bring him with us. We’d rather give him a few more days so that we can have him back with us at the weekend,” Kovač added.
Pascal Groß did not travel with the rest of the team on Monday due to illness, but Kovač didn’t completely rule out his involvement.
“He might be able to join us tomorrow. We assume that he can fly out then.”
Alongside Anselmino, Dortmund will definitely be without Fabio Silva (groin), Niklas Süle (calf), Julien Duranville (shoulder), Emre Can (groin), and Nico Schlotterbeck (knee).
