Arne Slot says he has “no issue to resolve” with Mo Salah after the Liverpool forward came back into the squad for the win over Brighton.
Salah had been left out of the squad to face Inter Milan after comments made an interview following the draw with Leeds last week.
But he returned to the pitch off the bench and set up Hugo Ekitike’s second goal as Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield.
“The reason why he wasn’t in Milan was his interview,” Slot said.
“The question then is, everyone has an opinion, should he be out once, twice, three times, four times, four months, 12 years. Every manager makes different decisions.
“I spoke to him yesterday. Usually I don’t say anything we talk about and I’m not going to make an exception now but I think actions speak louder than what has been said.
“He was in the squad again and when I had to make my first substitution, I brought him in and he performed as every fan, including me, would like him to perform.”
Asked if there are any more problems to iron out with Salah, Slot replied: “For me there’s no issue to resolve. For me, he’s now the same as any other player.
“You talk to your players if you’re happy or unhappy with things but there’s nothing for me to talk about after what happened against Leeds, after the game.”
“Mo is going to go to the AFCON now. I hope he’s going to do very well and in the meantime we have to play here without him, with not that many players available at the moment.
“He’s a Liverpool player and I would like to use him when we need him. Today, he didn’t start as he didn’t a few times before now but in the last one-and-a-half seasons I think he’s started almost every game.
“He had a performance today like you would want him to give.”
