Tolu Arokodare has been left out of Wolves’ pre-season camp in Portugal, with multiple European clubs pursuing a deal for the striker.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Fiorentina’s loan proposal was rejected because the fee was too small, and talks between the clubs are continuing with the Italians needing to raise their offer.
Trabzonspor also had a loan bid turned down last week and remain in contention, though Arokodare is understood to favour Italy over Türkiye. Fiorentina are expected to return with improved terms.
Wolves are open to offers and a loan exit is currently viewed as the most likely outcome. The 25-year-old reported back to Compton last week but his omission from the travelling group increases the prospect of a move. He is expected to leave this summer.
The Nigeria international joined only last summer in a package worth up to £24 million, scoring three Premier League goals and six in all competitions from 38 appearances as Wolves were relegated.
Former head coach Rob Edwards wanted him moved on after a dressing-room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane following the 4-0 loss to West Ham, in which Arokodare was the sole aggressor. He is now set to play no further part next season under new manager Cesar Peixoto.
