Tolu Arokodare left out of Wolves camp as Fiorentina bid rejected | OneFootball

Tolu Arokodare has been left out of Wolves’ pre-season camp in Portugal as clubs move for his signature.

ExpressAndStar.com reports that Fiorentina had a loan bid rejected because the loan fee was too small. The Italians would need to raise it significantly to strike a deal.

The 25-year-old remained at home while the rest of the squad flew on Monday for a week-long training camp.

Arokodare is expected to leave this summer and Wolves are open to offers, with a loan currently the likeliest outcome. Trabzonspor saw a loan offer rejected last week and remain in the running, though he is understood to favour Italy over Türkiye.

Clubs across Europe are in discussions, and Fiorentina are expected to return with an improved proposal.

The Nigerian international only arrived last summer in a deal worth up to £24million. He scored three Premier League goals and six in all competitions from 38 appearances as Wolves were relegated.

He reported back to Compton last week but his omission points to an exit. Former head coach Rob Edwards wanted him moved on after a dressing-room bust-up with Mateus Mane following the 4-0 defeat to West Ham, in which Arokodare was the sole aggressor.

He is set to play no further part next season under new boss Cesar Peixoto.
