Gunners were far from their best in goalless draw against Liverpool as a regular from last season struggles
Arsenal missed out on the chance to go eight points clear at the top of the Premier League as they played out a forgettable 0-0 draw with Liverpool.
In a match with very little in the way of clear-cut chances, Arsenal had the better of the opening 45 minutes but were increasingly pushed back after the break.
The crowd became increasingly edgy in demanding the Gunners push forward, though there was almost nothing in the way of a late charge.
Matt Verri was at the Emirates to rate the Arsenal players...
David Raya 6
Nearly caught out when rushed clearance allowed Bradley to lob him, but the woodwork came to the rescue. Didn’t have to make a single save.
Jurrien Timber 7
Rampant in the first half in getting in behind, without quite providing the right final ball. Won twice as many aerial duels as anyone else on the pitch.
William Saliba 7
Couple of lovely through balls for Timber before being involved in an almost costly mix-up with Raya. Inviting a late cross created a chance for Jesus.
Gabriel 7
Marked by Wirtz at times from corners and felt like a mismatch Arsenal did not make the most of. Rarely troubled defensively in another assured showing.
Piero Hincapie 6
Solid enough defensively but never entirely convincing when he drifts forward into the final third. Another defensive injury concern for Arsenal after he limped off shortly after half-time.
Martin Zubimendi 6
More tackles than anyone else on the pitch. Heavy touch in the box took a chance away from Saka and he looked tired, becoming bypassed too easily.
Declan Rice 7
Energetic as ever and brilliant first-half ball across the face of goal deserved more. Snapped into the challenges. Created more chances than anyone else in an Arsenal shirt.
Martin Odegaard 6
Glimpses of his trademark combinations with Saka - little more than that. Struggled to have the influence he’s had recently and was almost anonymous in the second half.
Bukayo Saka 7
Ran riot against Kerkez in the first half and carried the Arsenal attack, but that battle evened up after the break. Like most in an Arsenal shirt, he faded significantly.

Viktor Gyokeres 5
More of the same. Worked hard, but not in the right place for crosses, and never looked like scoring. Didn’t have a single shot in another frustrating display.
Leandro Trossard 5
Real drop from his recent standards. Early booking after losing the bal,l and there was a lack of spark when facing up to Bradley. Came close to conceding a penalty against Wirtz.
Substitutes:
Myles Lewis-Skelly (Hincapie 57’) 3
All at sea against Frimpong. Beaten for pace on more than one occasion and looked completely lost. Sloppy on the ball too in a really poor cameo.
Gabriel Martinelli (Trossard 64’) 6
One sensational bit of skill to turn on the touchline, but then passed it straight out. Promising moments but lacking in quality when it mattered.
Gabriel Jesus (Gyokeres 64’) 6
Bundled his way through a couple of challenges and buzzed around the final third. Should have done better with a stoppage-time header.
Noni Madueke (Saka 78’) 7
Immediate impact when skipping to the byline and putting a great cross in. Arsenal should have got the ball to him more often.
Eberechi Eze (Odegaard 78’) 6
Barely had a kick in his first Premier League appearance since December 13.
