Arsenal, crowned champions on Tuesday, return to work on Thursday to prepare for the 30 May Champions League final against PSG in Budapest, aiming for the double.
According to L'Équipe, the squad reconvene at Colney, north of London, after a Wednesday rest day granted by Mikel Arteta, following jubilant scenes as the club ended a 22-year wait.
Celebrations began at Colney, moved to a Mayfair nightclub, then towards the Emirates Stadium, where some players were seen at 5 am. Arteta was not at the training centre with them on Tuesday night, joined later, and, keeping a lid on things, reminded them of the next target.
Preparation starts with a morning training session, then afternoon media duties as part of the traditional finalists’ media day. On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal visit Crystal Palace in a dead rubber, after which the Premier League trophy will be presented.
For the manager, that match could hand minutes to fringe players and recent returnees, such as Mikel Merino and Jurriën Timber, who could have a part to play against the Parisians.
No training camp is scheduled next week for now, so the build-up will probably continue at Colney before the flight to Budapest. An Islington parade is planned on 31 May, possibly alongside the Champions League trophy depending on the result.
