Aston Villa ‘to bid €30m’ for Chelsea target Mario Gila | OneFootball

Aston Villa are the latest club linked with Lazio’s Mario Gila, with Defensa Central reporting the Premier League side are preparing a €30m offer for the centre-back.

The 25-year-old has hit standout form in recent wins over Sassuolo and AC Milan, and the Rossoneri are among his admirers. Lazio would prefer to sell abroad rather than strengthen a domestic rival if a sale happens before his deal ends in 2027.

Bournemouth have already been credited with interest. Any sale would send 50% of the fee to Real Madrid, who inserted a sell-on clause when selling him to Lazio in 2022.

This would be viewed as shrewd business by Claudio Lotito, with Gila’s contract expiring next year and no agreement close on a renewal.

Chelsea retain long-standing interest, with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton also in the frame. Atletico Madrid have been mooted as a route back to Spain, and the race remains open.
