Athletic start grouped medicals at Lezama as Terzic returns | OneFootball

A group of Athletic players underwent routine medicals and fitness tests at Lezama on Monday, with checks continuing in groups through Tuesday before the first full session on grass on Wednesday, as reported by as.com.

Terzic greeted his new squad at the training ground on his return from holiday. The German coach is starting work with 30 players, pending the four World Cup participants.

Those tested included Yuri Berchiche, Julen Agirrezabala, Navarro, Vivian, Areso, Santos, Gere, Canales, Sannadi, Djaló, Nico Serrano, Sancet, Iñaki Williams and Gorka Guruzeta.

Iñaki Williams, eliminated with Ghana, attended before beginning his holiday and spoke briefly with the coach. Andoni Gorosabel has a moderate right adductor longus injury.

Unai Gómez and Unai Vencedor missed the tests. Gómez completed them in parallel in Udine to sign for the Italian club, while Vencedor, contracted until June 2027, is not in Terzic’s plans.
