After suffering a meniscus injury in his right knee just two games into the season against Mallorca and Levante, Gavi is finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. The Barcelona midfielder, who underwent immediate surgery, is gradually closing in on a return to action after several months on the sidelines.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the clash with Athletic Bilbao, Hansi Flick delivered some encouraging news regarding his player.

"He'll travel with the team, but he won't be part of the squad. He'll train with us. He has taken another step forward."

However, the German coach remains cautious about pinpointing a specific return date for the midfielder.

"We'll see when he comes back, maybe after the break, or before... we'll see."

All signs now point to the young Spanish international's comeback being just around the corner.
