FC Barcelona has officially declared its ambition to bring European football’s spotlight back to Barcelona. Despite ongoing construction, the Catalan club has submitted its bid to host the Champions League final in the 2028-2029 season at its legendary stadium.

The renovation of the Spotify Camp Nou, expected to be completed by 2027, is the cornerstone of this project. The aim is clear: to offer a modernized venue that meets the highest standards required for a major continental football event.

“FC Barcelona formally expresses its intention to participate, together with the city council of Barcelona and the Generalitat of Catalonia, in the initial bidding process to host the 2029 Champions League final (…) subject to the corresponding homologation and approval by UEFA.”

This move is supported by the RFEF, now awaiting UEFA’s verdict.
