Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Saturday provided an update on the wellbeing of star winger Lamine Yamal.
Wide-man Lamine has for his part been sidelined for several weeks now, owing to an ankle injury suffered during a La Liga meeting with Leganés.
The 17-year-old, in turn, was left out once more this evening, as Barcelona kicked the club’s Copa del Rey campaign into gear in a meeting with minnows Barbastro.
The Blaugrana, to their credit, coped comfortably without Lamine, on their way to an eventual 4-0 triumph.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at the Estadio Municipal, though, the name of his side’s attacking standout was nevertheless put to boss Hansi Flick.
Asked when he expects to have Lamine back at his disposal in a competitive setting, Barca’s headmaster explained:
“I think Lamine Yamal will be ready to compete in the Spanish Super Cup.”
Barcelona are scheduled to take on Athletic Club in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia this coming Wednesday, January 8th.
