Barcelona confirm further injury setback for Olympics hero Fermín López

Barcelona have confirmed that Fermín López has suffered a further injury during training, and will be out for another three weeks.

The 21-year-old played a starring role for Spain at this summer’s Olympics, helping his side to the Gold medal with six goals and an assist during the tournament.

López has made three appearances for Barcelona this season, before suffering an injury. The forward was nearing a return to action, but has now suffered a new problem.

The club report that this is a problem with the rectus femoris muscle in his right quadriceps, and is a blow to boss Hansi Flick, who was expecting to be able to count on the in-form youngster.
