La Liga giants Barcelona have been made aware of the kind of figure which they would be required to part with to secure the signing of Aymeric Laporte this summer.
This of course comes amid recent speculation linking the 32-year-old with a move to the Spotify Camp Nou.
Laporte is fresh off playing a starring role for Spain en route to La Roja’s triumph at the 2026 World Cup. Rolling back the years, the former Manchester City man proved himself one of the tournament’s standout performers.
With these performances having come alongside Barcelona talent Pau Cubarsí, those in a position of power in Catalunya’s capital were in turn tipped to attempt to reunite the pair at club level.
Initially, it was suggested that a deal could be struck on the cheap, owing to a cut-price release clause in Laporte’s Athletic Club contract.
As alluded to above, however, the existence of as much has since been firmly denied. Not only that, but Athletic have made clear that an eyewatering offer would be required for them to even take into consideration a summer sale.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing Diario AS:
‘The club has valued the centre-back, one of the key players for the Spanish national team that won the World Cup, at 80 million euros.’
