La Liga giants Barcelona have been afforded the opportunity to bring in a member of the defensive ranks at Premier League outfit Chelsea.

This comes amid the understanding that Wesley Fofana has been offered to the Blaugrana by way of the Frenchman’s entourage.

It is of course common knowledge that Barcelona are on the lookout for reinforcements at the heart of defence with a view to next season.

Amid growing concerns surrounding a deal for first-choice target Alessandro Bastoni, though, Deco and co. have been forced to broaden their search.

With as much in mind, the aforementioned Fofana’s representatives recently reached out to the Camp Nou brass, to put their client’s name on the table.

And according to transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri of Sky:

‘Discussions have taken place in recent weeks between the Catalan club and the player’s representatives to assess the feasibility of a potential transfer. Despite his recent injury problems, the Frenchman remains highly regarded for his inherent qualities.’

It is added that Chelsea would likely demand a fee of at least €30 million plus bonuses for their oft-injured stopper.
