Paris Saint-Germain have been keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich in recent months, with German reports indicating that a transfer nearly took place last summer.
As the January transfer window nears, one Premier League club is reportedly considering a move for the veteran in an effort to reverse their current slump. Barcelona are also said to be targeting Kimmich, along with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, as they look to strengthen both their midfield and defense for the 2025 season.
Journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl recently revealed that Bayern Munich have ceased efforts to convince Kimmich to take a pay cut from his €20 million annual salary.
The club is aware of growing interest from other top sides, and with his contract set to expire next year, it seems unlikely that Kimmich would agree to a salary reduction.

Sky Sports Germany reports that Kimmich has yet to respond to Bayern Munich’s latest contract offer. He is holding out for potential offers from the Premier League or La Liga before making his final decision.
The German international recently mentioned that he knows when he wants his future sorted, stressing the importance of having clarity on the matter.
“I will not wait until summer,” Kimmich told ZDF SportStudio. “I will sit down in winter and then try to see the bigger picture. And make the right decision.”
