Earlier this month, Barcelona disclosed the financial results for the 2024/25 season, notably recording an operating profit of €2 million.
It was a great milestone for the club, who have been reeling with economic difficulties in recent years.
A key highlight of Barcelona’s financial result was the performance of the BLM (Barça Licensing & Merchandising) department, which recorded revenue of around €170 million.
Following Barcelona’s financial disclosure, the club have emphatically dismissed any speculation of a sale of their lucrative BLM division, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Despite possessing Assembly approval to sell up to 49.9% of BLM – a lever sanctioned in 2022 – the board has made it clear the option is not even under consideration.
BLM, wholly owned by FC Barcelona since 2018, has become a cornerstone of the club’s financial strategy.

Barcelona, in fact, have set a figure of €200 million in the next fiscal year, constituting nearly 20% of the club’s revenue budget.
Club’s general director Manel del Rio has emphasised that exponential growth in BLM, especially in e-commerce, has transformed its market valuation, starting from just €60 million in 2018-19 to its current stature.
While the club is still open to finding a strategic partner for BLM, the urgency has waned, with Barcelona seeking “a partner” rather than merely an investor.
Despite closing the financial year with a €17 million loss due to extraordinary items, Barcelona’s second consecutive year of positive operating profits and the strong performance of BLM place the club on a stable path towards normal activity in the transfer market.
