FC Barcelona lost a key part of their team at the end of the last season when Robert Lewandowski left after ending his contract with the Blaugrana club. However, the Catalans are still to land his replacement despite there being only around three weeks left till the start of next season.
Meanwhile, there is a chance that another player from the center-forward position might leave Barcelona in the coming few weeks. This is particularly the case as Ferran Torres has only one year left on his contract and the current UEFA Champions League title holders, Paris Saint-Germain, are being closely linked with him.
These links between the French club and the Spanish forward have strengthened significantly in the last few days. In fact, some reports from France indicate that Torres has already communicated to his inner circle his desire to join the Ligue 1 side, as talks between the two clubs are set to begin in the upcoming week.
However, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona have not received any indication, from either the player himself or from anyone in his entourage, that they are considering a move to PSG. The Blaugrana club remains committed to its intention of renewing the forward, but they will address this issue only after the transfer window has ended, i.e., in September.
Meanwhile, some reports suggest that because of this delay in renewal negotiations, the player feels undervalued at the club, and this is one factor pushing him towards Paris. Another factor is the insistence of Luis Enrique, who wants to reunite with the forward after the two worked together when the Spanish coach was in charge of the Spanish national team.
The coming weeks are going to be decisive as Ferran Torres continues to face an uncertain future at FC Barcelona, and it remains to be seen whether PSG will be able to land him this summer.
