Bayern Munich could cool their interest in Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey this summer because of the finances involved.

The Independent reported this week that Bayern are monitoring the Dutchman ahead of a possible end-of-season move, impressed by his physicality, movement and ability to lead the line despite six goals in 25 top flight matches.

Brobbey joined from Ajax last year in a deal worth about £21.5 million and has become central to Regis Le Bris’ attack, earning a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most imposing centre forwards.

Harry Kane remains Vincent Kompany’s first choice in Germany, and Nicolas Jackson is expected to return to Chelsea when his loan ends, increasing the need for cover up front.

However, TZ claims Sunderland value Brobbey at around £34.8 million, and with three years left on his contract and no indication the Black Cats intend to sell, Bayern could yet explore alternatives.

It is also suggested that Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, 25, is under consideration in Bavaria, with his versatility across wide and central roles potentially appealing as depth and cover for Kane.
