Bayern Munich are being linked with a double move for Sunderland pair Brian Brobbey and Robin Roefs ahead of the summer window.
According to Sunderland Echo, both arrived last summer and have impressed in Sunderland’s first Premier League campaign back, with Bayern said to have monitored Brobbey and placed Roefs on their long-term goalkeeping radar.
The Dutch duo are on long-term contracts. Roefs is valued at around £60m, while Brobbey’s figure is understood to be £40m to £50m.
Brobbey joined from Ajax for about £17.3m, potentially rising to roughly £21.6m, and has scored six goals in 25 appearances. His physical presence, movement and work against defenders have been important under Régis Le Bris. The 24-year-old has previously attracted interest from Arsenal and is expected to be in the Netherlands World Cup squad, which could further lift his value.
Roefs has emerged as Sunderland’s number one after a standout Premier League season. Bayern are believed to be seeking a long-term successor to Manuel Neuer, with Roefs now on their list and Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen also admired. Chelsea have been credited with strong interest in the 23-year-old.
Sunderland are under no pressure to sell, with both signings fitting a data-led model that targets high-upside talent, drawing comparisons with Brighton. Any Bayern move would test the Black Cats’ resolve.
Values have risen since their arrivals at the Stadium of Light, with Brobbey potentially worth more than double what Sunderland paid Ajax. Should interest turn into concrete bids, sporting director Florent Ghisolfi will have major calls to make. A combined deal could push towards £100m if Sunderland choose to sell.
