Bayern Munich are monitoring Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey ahead of the summer transfer window, according to The Independent, as they weigh attacking additions for next season.

The 24-year-old has impressed in his debut Premier League campaign after joining from Ajax last summer. The deal was around £17 million, potentially rising to £21.5 million with add-ons.

He has scored six times in 25 appearances, though it is his physical presence, movement and ability to lead the line that have stood out to leading European clubs.

A Netherlands international, he was in the Euro 2024 squad and is expected to be in contention for the World Cup squad, which could further increase his value.

Brobbey’s arrival formed part of Sunderland’s data-driven recruitment, credited with the club’s progress since returning to the top flight. There is no indication Sunderland are willing to sell as they chase a strong finish and plan for a key summer window.
