Ahead of the Club World Cup, Bayern Munich reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Jonathan Tah a few weeks before his contract with Die Werkself was due to expire.

The fee was tied to Bayern’s performances at the Club World Cup, and with the Bavarians out of the tournament following a 0-2 quarter-final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, it’s now clear how much Leverkusen will receive.

According to Kicker, Bayern will have to pay around €2 million to their Bundesliga rivals based on how far they progressed in the tournament in the United States.

Tah was in the starting line-up for four of Bayern’s five games during the competition and looks set to partner Dayot Upamecano at the heart of defence heading into the 2025/26 campaign.
