FC Bayern is currently looking for transfer opportunities across all positions. Several summer transfers are conceivable. A top Belgian prospect has also long been linked with Bayern

That player is Nathan de Cat of RSC Anderlecht. FC Bayern is said to have been monitoring him for quite some time, but so have various other clubs in Europe, including Borussia Dortmund.

Most recently, TSG Hoffenheim in particular has expressed interest in the central midfielder, and VfB Stuttgart also has him on their radar. De Cat won’t come cheap, as he already has professional experience.

Numerous clubs are interested in de Cat

The current situation is somewhat reminiscent of the saga surrounding Kennet Eichhorn, who ultimately ended up at Bayer Leverkusen. The Belgian is said to have already visited numerous clubs with his parents and agent in search of the ideal next step. Anderlecht hopes to be able to re-sign de Cat on loan for one more season after a sale. Ultimately, that could even lead to a reduction in the transfer fee.

However, Bayern’s interest isn’t particularly concrete at the moment, as the squad already includes four players for central midfield—Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Tom Bischof, and Noel Aseko—and Bara Sapoko Ndiaye is also set to be signed permanently.

Only if there are departures in midfield might FC Bayern make another move.

Hoffenheim is prioritizing de Cat

According to Sky reports, TSG Hoffenheim has now intensified its efforts to sign the 17-year-old. Since Grischa Prömel is leaving the Kraichgau-based club and the transfer of Bremen star Jens Stage is proving very complicated, TSG is prioritizing de Cat.

No decision has been made yet, but talks are ongoing. And in Hoffenheim, they’re quite confident they can pull off a coup with the highly talented player. For Bayern, this would mean that, should the need for a midfielder arise again, there would be one fewer option available.
