Club Brugge remain keen to sign Norway international winger Andreas Schjelderup and have moved closer to Benfica’s terms, with a deal potentially near. The 21-year-old has had limited opportunities at the Lisbon club.
According to Glorioso 1904, negotiations are ongoing and the deal is expected to be settled by Friday, 30 January. The clubs have yet to finalise the structure and payment schedule.
Brugge have submitted a fresh proposal after their opening bid fell short of Benfica’s demands. The figures in the new offer have not been disclosed.
Benfica’s hierarchy, led by Rui Costa, are seeking around €15m for the winger. Brugge initially offered €8m plus €3m in add-ons, and are working to bridge the gap.
Schjelderup, valued at €14m, has made 25 appearances this season, 13 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 7 in the Champions League, 4 in the Taça de Portugal and 1 in the Taça da Liga. Across 1,146 minutes he has scored two goals and provided three assists.
