Roma are focusing heavily on Joshua Zirkzee and Giacomo Raspadori, but as Frederic Massara confirmed, they aren’t the only names on the list to strengthen the attack.
Another player in the Giallorossi’s orbit is Andreas Schjelderup, a left winger from Benfica.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 2004-born player is struggling to find playing time under José Mourinho.
For this reason, the Portuguese club, despite a €100 million release clause in his contract, are reportedly open to loaning the player out with a €15 million option to buy.
Digging deeper into the Norwegian’s history, there appears to be another reason why Benfica is ready to sell him.
Until recently, the former Nordsjælland player was considered a “wonderkid,” but he has been a negative figure off the pitch.
Last November, the Copenhagen Court sentenced him to 14 days in prison for distributing a sexually explicit video depicting minors.
The player had reported himself and publicly apologized, calling it a “joke in bad taste.”
